Adrien was one of the original five members of Team Rwanda. The most professionally successful cyclist to emerge from Team Rwanda, Adrien has been riding for MTN Qhubeka, a pro team based in South Africa since 2009. Adrien also became the first black African to complete a mountain bike race at the 2012 London Olympics. In 2013, Adrien started his own junior cycling academy, Adrien Niyonshuti Cycling Academy (ANCA) with a focus on mentoring young cyclists both in the sport and in their academics.
